Part II

Supplemental reports provide a record of the hard work and dedication of our Gettysburg DAR chapter throughout the year. They capture the many ways we give back—whether through preserving history, assisting veterans, maintaining historic sites, or engaging with our community. These reports allow us to look back on our accomplishments, measure our impact, and ensure our efforts are remembered. More than just documentation, they serve as an inspiration for future generations to continue the DAR’s legacy of service, patriotism, and education.

Encouraging Young Historians – American History Essay Awards

Each year, the Gettysburg Chapter of NSDAR encourages local students to explore our nation’s past through the American History Essay Contest. This program helps young minds develop a deeper appreciation for history while strengthening their writing and research skills. We are so proud of these young historians and look forward to next year’s contest!

Honoring Young Talent – Junior American Citizens Awards

The Gettysburg Chapter of NSDAR is proud to support and recognize young students who show creativity and a love for American history! Congratulations to all the talented students who participated this year! We look forward to continuing to inspire the next generation to engage with American history through education and the arts.

Celebrating New Citizens – Dedication Day Ceremony

Patriotism and service are at the heart of the Gettysburg Chapter of NSDAR, and one of our most meaningful events this year was the Dedication Day Naturalization Ceremony at Soldiers National Cemetery on November 10, 2024. Congratulations to the new citizens, and thank you to everyone who helped make this event special!
